Crystal Hogan

Yoga Instructor

Crystal is a military veteran who discovered the transformative power of yoga while serving in the armed forces. She found yoga through a rehabilitation program after a car accident in 2017. After retiring from the military, she decided to pursue her passion and wanted to share the gift of yoga with others and completed her 200-hour certification.

Crystal’s classes are inspired not only by her own personal experiences, but by the experiences and journeys of her students as well. Her classes are rooted in mindfulness and self-awareness, with a focus on building strength, flexibility, and balance. They are designed for a diverse range of students from beginners to advanced practitioners, as she believes deeply in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. She draws upon her military background to create a supportive and empowering environment for her students, incorporating themes of resilience, adaptability, and self-discipline.

She also volunteers her time to teaching yoga to veterans. She is committed to giving back to those who have served their country. Off the mat she enjoys exploring new restaurants, traveling to new cities, and spending time with her pups.

What does yoga mean to you?

Yoga is a way of life! Through yoga, we learn to be more present in the moment, breathing through challenging situations, and finding peace within ourselves. Yoga enriches our lives and empowers us to live with greater purpose and intention.

What is your favorite asana and why?

My favorite asana currently is Tree Pose. In Tree Pose I feel grounded and connected to the earth while also feeling light and lifted. It reminds me of the importance of finding balance in all areas of life (work, self-care, rest, and service) and encourages me to stand tall and rooted in my values while also reaching for growth and expansion.
