I am originally from New Zealand but have lived on and off in the United States for the past 20 years. After having 2 boys I started a consistent yoga practice and felt the need to become a yoga teacher. It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made and I feel incredibly grateful to get to do this as my job. Yoga has helped me in so many ways and it is always a pleasure to share this with others.

Teaching Style:

I try to keep my teaching as fresh as possible, always looking to add new ideas to my classes. I also like to focus on the core, as I feel like this area is intergral in keeping strong and active.

What does yoga mean to Vanessa?

Yoga to me represents a way to stay healthy both physically & mentally in this stressful modern world that we live in. It is a peaceful haven to go and regroup.

Favorite Asana:

My favorite asana is Mermaid or a variation of Eka Pada Rajakapotasana as it opens up my hips while also opening my shoulders. One of my shoulders is quite tight from a rotator cuff tear so it’s great to be able to do that particular bind as I struggle with a lot of other binds.
