John Mckay

John is a long time ski/ snowboard instructor in the Vail valley, and a classroom teacher. He has twice run across the USA for children with cancer on a reconstructed knee largely, in shi mind, due to his yoga practice the last few years.
He is a lifetime learner and a teacher who is also an avid student in any setting.

Teaching Style:

I enjoy the movement and flow of yoga as well as the ease that can be found when holding a pose for a time. Yoga has improved all of my physical activities and outlook- even in trying times.

 

Andie Plumley

An Air Force brat, Andie lived in Europe most of her life before settling in Virginia Beach. After several years in VA Beach, She was blessed to have found a hOMe at Studio Bamboo.
Andie is a master’s level mental health clinician and behavioral consultant, providing services to individuals with complex psychological and cognitive issues – focusing on the whole person, mind, body and spirit. Her yoga journey has enhanced her skills and made
her a much more holistic clinician.
 
Teaching Style:
My yoga practice has brought so much into my life, I am humbled to be able to share what has been given to me. My style is hands on, encouraging, and playful with a focus on yoga foundations and benefits.

-15 HR Mindful Yoga Therapy
-Adaptive Yoga Training with Ann Richardson
 
Favorite Asana:
Urdhva Dhanurasana – Wheel Pose – at it causes me to feel invigorated, open, balanced, and strong. It requires that I am patient and do the work that is required to warm up. Then I must focus and be bold and strong. Finally – Sthira and Sukha – steadiness and ease to hold and breathe.

Lindsay Richards

Lindsay's ideal state is being barefoot outdoors. Lindsay believes that nurturing a child-like sense of wonder is what keeps us young at heart, along with the openness to receive and experience new things. Lindsay's journey with yoga has helped her to find strength, fluidity and balance in her life, career and relationships with others. Lindsay has a passion for learning, writing and helping others heal.

Multi-Flow, Vinyasa Intermediate, Kids Yoga, Yoga Nidra and Restorative

Experience and Certifications:

200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, Certified Reiki Healer, 200 Hour Yoga Ayurveda in Progress

Intentional, Heartfelt, Hands-On, Playful, Energy-Aware, Accessible

Wild Thing; "The ecstatic unfolding of the enraptured heart!"

In this class the instructor will guide you through a short series of movements, followed by a relaxing meditation. You will explore different styles of meditating that will nurture a sense of peace, calm and clarity to end your day.
